Wraggs Bowling Club was formed by the workers at the old works dating back as far as the 1930s. Thomas Wragg & Sons was one of three firms that were in the Loxley Valley producing hollow refractories with the name 'Wraggs' coming from the firms name Thomas Wragg.
After the works closed some 25+ years ago a few players continued to maintain and run the club through memberships. The now late Haydn White grew the club to establish four teams in three leagues as well as increasing social memberships and ensured the long term future of the bowling club. The club continues to be run by volunteers with funds obtained through memberships and a yearly fundraiser.
We are always looking to welcome new members to the club. Whether you are looking to bowl socially with family & friends, practice alone or play competitively in one of our teams. We have the membership to suit you.
