Our Story & Heritage
Wraggs Bowling Club was originally established in the 1930s by the workers of Thomas Wragg & Sons. As one of the prominent refractory firms in the Loxley Valley, the club proudly carries forward the industrial heritage and spirit of its namesake. Since the closure of the works over 25 years ago, a dedicated group of members ensured the club’s survival. Through the leadership of the late Haydn White, we expanded to host four teams across three local leagues. Today, our historic green continues to be operated and maintained by passionate volunteers, supported entirely by our members and community fundraising efforts.

What’s New

Our Club Crest
We are proud to unveil the inaugural logo for Wraggs Bowling Club. Created by our members, the design reflects our heritage, our sport, and our scenic location by the brook.
It draws inspiration from the historic local brickworks to capture the true essence of our club. We hope you enjoy this new symbol of our community.

Teamwear
Following the launch of our new crest, we are delighted to partner with local specialists DB Sports for the 2025 season.
Members can now order official Wraggs Bowling Club apparel through our dedicated online store or in-person. Explore the full collection via the link below.

Brand New Teams
Enhanced facilities and growing interest have led to the formation of four new teams for 2025 and a fifth for 2026. This brings our total to ten active teams—double our 2024 capacity.
We are particularly proud of our dedicated ladies’ team, successfully established in 2025, which continues to compete every Thursday.

New Clubhouse
We are pleased to share the first look at our new clubhouse. Thanks to National Lottery funding, we have significantly upgraded our facilities to serve all members better.
These improvements specifically enhance accessibility for women, children, and those with mobility requirements. We are immensely grateful for the support that made this project possible.
